If you’ve ever been to the San Luis Valley, you know that the beautiful, craggy mountains that surround us are incredible weather generators. This is a view of the Sangre De Cristo mountains from Highway 17 (The Alien Highway). Some people claim that these clouds are actually alien motherships (or maybe they provide concealment?) The world may never know. I did a whole series of digital paintings based on morning landscapes, thanks to daylight savings time waking me up before sunrise every day. Rather than immediately doomscrolling, I decided to get in my truck and paint in my bathrobe, bleary-eyed and decaffeinated. These are the results. Your house just got an upgrade.
